WHAT IS HEART RHYTHM MEDITATION?
HRM is comprised of gentle practices that engage and integrate the body, mind and spirit. In Heart Rhythm Meditation we concentrate our attention on our hearts, synchronizing breath and heartbeat, while focusing our minds on specific loving intentions.  By bringing the rhythm of our breath and heartbeat into balance we achieve a state of calm, alert, inner awareness that is full of potential. We also develop an awareness of the subtle energy that rides on the breath, learning to harness and apply this energy to help bring about lasting changes to our health, relationships, sense of self, and accomplishments. The heart's electromagnetic field is one hundred times more powerful than that of the brain. Through the practice of Heart Rhythm Meditation we learn to work with the innate intelligence of our hearts,  and develop a greater influence on our environment than our environment has on us.
WHAT IF I'VE NEVER MEDITATED BEFORE? IS HRM EASY TO LEARN?
As long as you can breathe, you can learn Heart Rhythm Meditation! Each week we will learn a new practice and build on the skills learned in prior classes. Regular practice will enhance your time in meditation and help you develop greater capacity. In Heart Rhythm Meditation we sit upright in comfortable chairs. Casual, comfortable clothing recommended.
CAN I COME ON A DROP IN BASIS RATHER THAN SIGN UP FOR THE FULL FIVE WEEK SERIES?
Heart Rhythm Meditation is a skill based, energetic practice. Each class builds upon the practices, skills, subtle energy and sense of community being developed among participants through the previous weeks' practices. Participants are strongly encouraged to commit to the five weeks in order to receive the full benefit of the practices.
WHAT IF I NEED TO MISS A CLASS?
At Heart Rhythm Meditation North Shore we understand that life is busy! Recordings of the meditations will be available for all participants. Individual coaching sessions can also be arranged to help you get caught up.
